Four REvil members sentenced to more than four years in prison



4 members of the ransomware gang REvil have been sentenced to a number of years in jail in Russia for expenses associated to hacking and cash laundering.

The sentences for Artem Zayets, Alexey Malozemov, Daniil Puzyrevsky and Ruslan Khansvyarov have been introduced on Friday after the Russian army prosecutor’s workplace pushed final week for jail phrases of as much as six-and-a-half years. 

In keeping with Russian media outlet Kommersant, the St. Petersburg Garrison Army Courtroom introduced Zayets and Malozemov have been sentenced to four-and-a-half and 5 years, respectively, in a penal colony, whereas Khansvyarov and Puzyrevsky obtained five-and-a-half and 6 years. 

Puzyrevsky was seen because the group’s chief and will doubtlessly face a positive along with the jail sentence. 

The 4 have been a part of an preliminary group of 14 individuals arrested by Russian authorities following suggestions despatched by U.S. authorities. Eight males have been ultimately tried however 4 others have been separated from those who have been sentenced on Friday. 

All the males have been arrested in a collection of raids throughout Russia in early 2022, earlier than the invasion of Ukraine.
