Fb, Instagram pulling advertisements from legal professionals in search of plaintiffs … to sue them

Meta Platforms stated Thursday it’s pulling advertisements ​from Fb and Instagram trying to recruit plaintiffs for litigation accusing social media platforms of being addictive to younger customers, in accordance with Reuters.

“We won’t enable trial legal professionals to revenue from our platforms whereas concurrently claiming they’re dangerous,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone stated in a press release.

The transfer follows Meta’s loss in two trials over the allegations.

Greater than 3,300 lawsuits involving dependancy claims are pending in ​California state courtroom towards Meta, Google, Snapchat guardian Snap Inc. and ByteDance, TikTok’s guardian firm, in accordance with Reuters.

Companies akin to Morgan & Morgan, which was a part of the trial crew that gained the Los Angeles social dependancy trial, are ​amongst people who positioned advertisements on ​Fb. A spokesperson for the agency didn’t ⁠reply to a request for remark from Reuters in regards to the advertisements being pulled.
