On 08 December, the U.S. Division of State cleared and submitted a proposal to Congress for the availability of defence articles valued at USD $686 million for the Pakistan Air Drive’s (PAF) F-16 fleet.
The proposed package deal consists of 92 Hyperlink-16 tactical data-link (TDL) methods, six inert Mk82 common function bomb (GPB) our bodies (used for coaching functions), AN/APX-126 Superior Identification Buddy or Foe (AIFF) methods, KY-58M and KIV-78 cryptographic appliques, AN/APQ -10C Easy Key Loaders, ADU-891 missile adaptor items, and varied different “weapons integration, check, and assist gear.”
Of the entire $686 million, about $37 million will go towards the acquisition of Main Defence Tools (MDE), whereas the rest, $649 million, will cowl non-MDE objects akin to assist and coaching.
In response to the State Division’s submission to Congress, the deal will “lengthen the plane life [of the PAF’s F-16 fleet] by 2040 whereas addressing crucial flight security considerations.” The proposal additionally highlights that the replace will proceed enabling the PAF’s F-16s to interoperate with U.S. Air Drive and different coalition fighters in fight operations, workout routines, and coaching.
