About half of surveyed attorneys are happy with their regulation agency compensation, survey finds

Solely 52% of surveyed attorneys are happy with their complete compensation, however the share will increase with pay transparency, in keeping with a regulation agency compensation survey by Law360 Pulse.
In corporations with pay transparency, 74% of attorneys have been happy with their complete agency compensation, in keeping with a Law360 story on the survey. Thirty p.c of the surveyed attorneys stated lawyer salaries have been clear.
One other 17% of surveyed attorneys stated salaries at their corporations have been partially clear. On this group, 54% of the attorneys have been happy with complete compensation.
The median base pay for associates was $120,000 at corporations with 100 or fewer attorneys, $179,000 at corporations with 101 to 600 attorneys, and $230,000 at corporations with greater than 600 attorneys.
The median base pay for fairness companions was $250,000 at corporations with 100 or fewer attorneys, $400,000 at corporations with 101 to 600 attorneys, and $800,000 at corporations with greater than 600 attorneys.
Median bonuses have been $15,000 for associates, $50,000 for nonequity companions and $170,000 for fairness companions. The Law360 story didn’t break down bonuses based mostly on agency measurement.
Greater than 1,150 attorneys responded to the survey, which was performed from April to June. Survey respondents have been requested about their compensation for 2023. Forty-one p.c of the respondents have been associates, 16% have been nonequity companions, 27% have been fairness companions and 16% have been different attorneys.
