Texas Home Invoice 3053, launched within the 2025-2026 legislative session, prohibits municipalities and counties working firearm “buyback” packages. The invoice goals to stop these packages from eradicating firearms from circulation and thus lowering civilian firearm possession. If individuals need, they’ll promote their weapons to others reminiscent of a gun retailer. The invoice handed the Texas Home with bipartisan assist, by a 85 to 56 vote, and was forwarded to the state Senate.
