The plea by Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan in search of leisure of bail situation to mark his presence at a police station in Uttar Pradesh each week was accepted by the Supreme Courtroom on Monday.
The Bench of Justice PS Narasimha and Justice tSandeep Mehta relaxed the situation set in its September 2022 bail order.
In September 2022, the Apex Courtroom granted bail to Kappan within the case filed in opposition to him by the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Police underneath the Illegal Actions Prevention Act (UAPA).
Kappan was working as a reporter for a Malayalam information portal Azhimukham, when he was arrested with three others in UP, whereas he was in his solution to report on the gang-rape and homicide of a 19-year-old Dalit lady in Hathras.
