A fast assessment of a number of the preliminary findings throughout the Protection Division by the Division of Authorities Effectivity reveals some $80 million in funds wasted on packages that don’t assist DOD’s core mission.
In a social media video posted yesterday night, Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell learn off a couple of of the preliminary findings from DOGE, which revealed expenditures many service members could be hard-pressed to connect with Protection Secretary Pete Hegseth’s concentrate on lethality, meritocracy, accountability, requirements and readiness.
“On the DOD, we have been working hand in hand with the DOGE crew,” Parnell stated. “And because the secretary stated, we welcome that course of as a result of that course of will make us extra deadly. And that implies that our warfighters on the battlefield will likely be extra profitable.”
Among the many DOGE findings, Parnell highlighted $1.9 million for holistic range, fairness and inclusion transformation and coaching; $6 million to the College of Montana to “strengthen American democracy by bridging divides”; $3.5 million by the Protection Human Sources Exercise to assist DEI teams; and $1.6 million to the College of Florida to review the “social and institutional detriments of vulnerability and resilience to local weather hazards in [the] African Sahel.”
Altogether, he stated, the complete set of preliminary findings of DOGE reveals about $80 million in wasteful spending that may very well be higher spent on lethality and readiness.
On the day he was sworn in, Hegseth launched a message to the power spelling out his three prime priorities. These embrace reviving the warrior ethos and restoring belief within the army; rebuilding the army by matching threats to capabilities; and reestablishing deterrence by defending the homeland.
Parnell stated the DOGE crew is simply getting began rooting out division expenditures that aren’t aligned with the secretary’s prime priorities.
“These things just isn’t a core operate of our army. This isn’t what we do.
