At a gathering on 11 July 2024, 22 attorneys and teachers voted to kind the Australasian Affiliation of Non-public Worldwide Legislation (AAPrIL). Professor Mary Keyes (Griffith College) was elected the inaugural President and the Honourable Dr Andrew Bell, Chief Justice of New South Wales, has agreed to be AAPrIL’s patron.
The AAPrIL’s first elected officers are as follows:

Secretary: Professor Reid Mortensen (College of Southern Queensland)
Treasurer: Ms Cara North (Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Melbourne)
Australian Vice-President: Dr Michael Douglas (Bennett, Perth)
New Zealand Vice-President: Mr Jack Wass (Stout Avenue Chambers, Wellington)
AAPrIL has been established to advertised understanding, consciousness and the reform of personal worldwide legislation in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and to offer a regional organisation for cooperation with related non-public worldwide legislation associations internationally. It plans to carry an annual convention, assist common seminars and roundtables, have interaction with governments in Australasia on non-public worldwide legislation points and reform, publish an everyday e-newsletter on occasions and authorized developments within the area, and encourage cooperation with the Hague Convention on Non-public Worldwide Legislation and different non-public worldwide legislation inter-governmental organisations.
