Centcom Conducts Strikes in Yemen, Syria



Since Friday, U.S. Central Command has performed strikes in opposition to Iranian-backed Houthi targets in Yemen and in opposition to targets in Syria as a part of the defeat-ISIS mission there. 

On Saturday and Sunday, Centcom forces executed airstrikes in opposition to a number of Houthi weapons storage services inside Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, mentioned Pentagon Press Secretary Air Drive Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder throughout a briefing in the present day.

Ryder mentioned the U.S. strikes will degrade the power of Iranian-backed teams to plan and launch future assaults on U.S and coalition forces who’re within the area to conduct the defeat-ISIS operations. 

Centcom commander Military Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla mentioned the U.S. will do what’s wanted to defend its personnel within the Centcom space of accountability. 

“Our message is obvious. Assaults in opposition to U.S. and coalition companions within the area won’t be tolerated,” mentioned Kurilla. “We are going to proceed to take each step obligatory to guard our personnel and coalition companions and reply to reckless assaults.”
