The Division Bench of Justice Neela Gokhale and Justice Firdosh P Pooniwalla handed the order on Tuesday on an interim software filed by Hajrat Peer Malik Rehan Mira Saheb Dargah, Vishalgad, in search of permission for animal slaughter in the course of the pageant of Bakri Eid and the Urs.
Referring to the June 14, 2024 verdict in Hajrat Peer Malik Rehan Mira Saheb Dargah vs State of Maharashtra, 2024, whereby the slaughter of animals was permitted in 2024, at the very least for the pageant of Bakri Eid and the Urs, the Excessive Court docket held that the permission was relevant to the applicant and its devotees.
The Division Bench clarified that the circumstances imposed within the order on June 14, 2024 would additionally apply to 2025 and have to be strictly complied with.
