Phishing emails presupposed to be from PACER’s digital submitting system goal attorneys

Attorneys who reply to faux emails purporting to be from PACER’s digital submitting system are being led to malicious web sites with laptop viruses, the U.S. federal judiciary warned Wednesday.

The emails declare to include notices of digital submitting from PACER’s Case Administration/Digital Case Information system, referred to as CM/ECF. Attorneys are informed to answer instantly, and once they do, they’re despatched a hyperlink to entry the supposed case paperwork. As an alternative, the hyperlink sends attorneys to the malicious web site.
