Women wrestlers sexual abuse case: Delhi High Court to hear Brij Bhushan Singh plea against trial court proceedings tomorrow – India Legal

Singh has sought quashing of all the proceedings, together with the First Data Report (FIR) and the trial courtroom order, which framed fees towards him.

The previous president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has been charged with the offence of sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of 5 girls wrestlers.

The trial courtroom held that there was enough materials on document to border fees towards Singh for the offence punishable below Part 506(1) (prison intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) with respect to 2 wrestlers.

Former Assistant Secretary of WFI, Vinod Tomar, has been charged with the offence of prison intimidation of 1 wrestler.

Six girls wrestlers levelled sexual harassment allegations towards Singh. Based mostly on their complaints, police had registered an FIR towards the previous Member of Parliament.

Police filed a cost sheet towards Singh on June 15, 2023 for offences below Sections 354 (outraging modesty), 354A (sexually colored remarks), 354D (stalking) and 506(1) (prison intimidation) of IPC.

The ladies wrestlers had earlier moved the Supreme Court docket for the registration of an FIR towards Singh.

The Apex Court docket was subsequently knowledgeable by the Delhi Police that an FIR was registered and the investigation was on observe.

A minor wrestler had additionally levelled allegations towards Singh. Nonetheless, she later withdrew her criticism and the Delhi Police filed a cancellation report in that case below the Safety of Youngsters from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
