New AD Case Filed Against Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol From China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam    | Customs & International Trade Law Blog


A brand new antidumping motion has been filed towards Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol from China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam. The allegation is that imports from China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam are being dumped.

Background on AD Investigations 

Antidumping responsibility (“AD”) is introduced collectively by the U.S. Worldwide Commerce Fee (“USITC”) and the U.S. Division of Commerce (“Commerce”). AD investigations are triggered when a home trade alleges that it has been injured by competing imports of explicit items from particular international locations being bought at lower than a good worth. The home trade initiating the investigation is called the petitioner, whereas the international trade taking part within the investigation is called the respondent. 

Scope of the Investigation 

The merchandise lined by these investigations is all types of polytetramethylene ether glycol (“PTMEG”).  

The merchandise topic to the investigation are at present categorised within the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US (HTSUS) underneath the next subheadings: 3907.29.00 and 2932.11.00.

Subsequent Steps 

The Commerce Division will decide whether or not to provoke the investigations inside 20 days. The USITC will attain a preliminary dedication of fabric harm or risk of fabric harm inside 45 days. 

As with all continuing, participation is essential to guard your rights. We urge anybody who imports Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol from China, South Korea, Taiwan, or Vietnam to pay shut consideration to this case and to make sure that all acceptable steps are taken to mitigate any injury. 

AD investigations can lead to determinations adversarial to respondent pursuits for years that might successfully prohibit entry to the U.S. market. Failure to successfully take part in investigations can put exporters and importers at a big drawback.
