Chief Justice of India Surya Kant has restructured the Supreme Courtroom’s Synthetic Intelligence Committee, assigning Justice P.S. Narasimha as its new chair. The revamped panel has been tasked with overseeing the event and rollout of AI-based techniques inside the Supreme Courtroom and the broader judicial framework.
The committee now consists of Madhya Pradesh Excessive Courtroom Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Kerala Excessive Courtroom choose Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan V., Punjab & Haryana Excessive Courtroom choose Justice Anoop Chitkara, and Karnataka Excessive Courtroom choose Justice Suraj Govindaraj. Their collective mandate is to judge present AI initiatives, information future technological adoption, and make sure that improvements align with judicial requirements of equity and transparency.
Registrar (Expertise) Anupam Patra will perform because the Member-Secretary and Convenor of the committee, whereas Ashish J. Shiradhonkar from the e-Committee (Techniques) has been named a Particular Invitee.
In response to the Courtroom, the panel’s reconstitution displays a renewed push to responsibly combine superior know-how into court docket operations—aimed toward bettering effectivity, easing entry to justice, and strengthening transparency in judicial processes.
