Democrats Push for More Gun Control After Charlie Kirk’s Assassination Without Citing Specific Laws That Could Have Prevented It. A Bolt Action Rifle Isn't Even A Semi-Automatic Gun. – Crime Prevention Research Center


After the assassination of Charlie Kirk on September tenth, 2025, quite a lot of high-profile Democrats shortly demanded new gun management measures. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), who chairs the Home Gun Violence Prevention Job Pressure, and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) had been amongst these pushing for stricter laws. Rep. George Latimer, New York Democrat, later informed reporters exterior the chamber, “Does it take capturing a conservative to begin to notice the gun scourge? I hope they notice it.”
