
The most recent challenge of the Ritsumeikan Legislation Assessment (No. 43, 2025), a legislation assessment in English revealed by the Ritsumeikan College Legislation Affiliation since 1986, encompasses a research by Professor Mao UEMATSU (College of Legislation, Ritsumeikan College) entitled Cross-border Patent Litigation and Lis Alibi Pendens: A Korean–Japanese Case Research for Future Asian Rules of Personal Worldwide Legislation.
The article examines a collection of patent litigation circumstances in Korea and Japan, analyzing them to “illustrate the complexity of cross-border patent litigation.” It additional argues that, even after reforms to procedural legal guidelines in each Korea and Japan, structurally comparable cross-border conflicts stay unresolved.
