On July 25, 2025, the Defence Analysis and Improvement Organisation (DRDO)
efficiently performed flight trials of the UAV-launched Precision Guided
Missile (ULPGM)-V3 on the Nationwide Open Space Vary (NOAR) in Kurnool
district, Andhra Pradesh.
This important achievement marks a notable development in India’s defence
capabilities, showcasing the nation’s rising experience in precision-guided
missile know-how deployed through unmanned aerial autos (UAVs).
The Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, congratulated DRDO together with its
business companions, together with Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DcPPs),
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and start-ups for his or her
collaborative improvement and profitable demonstration of the ULPGM-V3
system.

He emphasised that this success evidences the Indian defence business’s
readiness to soak up and manufacture vital defence applied sciences
domestically.
The UAV-Launched Precision Guided Missile, significantly the ULPGM-V3, is an
extended-range variant, sometimes called the UAV-Launched Missile –
Prolonged Vary (ULM-ER). This method has been designed for deployment from
unmanned aerial platforms, enhancing the operational flexibility and strike
capabilities of Indian armed forces.
Earlier within the 12 months, a mannequin of the ULM-ER was showcased at Aero India 2025,
which befell in Bengaluru from February 10 to 14, garnering consideration
for its superior know-how and potential battlefield functions.
The profitable flight trials at NOAR validate the missile’s prolonged vary
efficiency and precision strike capabilities, reinforcing India’s place
within the improvement of refined UAV-based weapon methods.
This development not solely boosts India’s defence preparedness but in addition
strengthens the indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem by integrating
innovation from DRDO, business collaborators, and know-how start-ups.
