The fourth annual APILA Convention will happen in particular person at Doshisha College in Kyoto (Japan) on Saturday 13 (Day 1) and Sunday 14 (Day 2) December 2025.  The APILA Convention will likely be within the type of two days of roundtable discussions in English.  Individuals whose abstracts have been chosen (see subsequent paragraph) will ship oral displays in activate Days 1 and a couple of.  Every presentation will run for about 10 minutes and be adopted by a dialogue of about 10 to fifteen minutes by which members can have the chance to touch upon the presentation.  The target of the APILA Convention is to help presenters to refine potential analysis papers with a view to eventual publication.

Individuals who’re concerned with delivering displays on the APILA Convention are invited to submit abstracts of their proposals in English.  Whereas proposals could also be on any matter, they need to (1) concentrate on personal worldwide regulation points and (2) in some way relate to Asia (broadly outlined).  Additional, whereas each effort will likely be made to slot in as many displays as attainable, given the constraints of time, it might not be possible to just accept all proposals.  Inevitably, in that case, some choice could also be needed.  APILA apologises upfront for this.  All the things else being equal, precedence will likely be given to proposals exploring leading edge questions (albeit not essentially definitively answering them) in a number of of the next areas: (1) worldwide dispute decision (particularly worldwide arbitration and mediation), (2) information safety and information privateness, (3) competitors regulation (together with inside digital markets), (4) household regulation (together with succession), (5) mental property rights, (6) Islamic personal worldwide regulation, (7) environmental points (together with local weather change), (8) enterprise and human rights, (9) cryptocurrency and the blockchain, (10) sanctions and counter-sanctions, (11) the financial evaluation of personal worldwide regulation guidelines, and (12) synthetic intelligence.

Abstracts are to be submitted by electronic mail to reyes.anselmo@gmail.com by Saturday 25 October 2025.  Individuals whose abstracts have been accepted will likely be so knowledgeable by Saturday 1 November 2025. The latter individuals are thereafter requested to submit their displays in PowerPoint format or (if the presentation is within the type of a draft paper) in pdf format by electronic mail to reyes.anselmo@gmail.com by Saturday 22 November 2025.  All PowerPoints and draft papers obtained will likely be circulated upfront electronically amongst APILA Convention members.  Contributors will thus be capable to learn into the matters to be mentioned upfront of the APILA Convention.  Oral displays can then concentrate on succinct statements of key takeaways and extra time might be allotted to dialogue.

Please word that APILA’s accessible funding is restricted.  Due to this fact, within the regular course of occasions, APILA regrets that it won’t be able to offer funding for the journey and lodging bills of presenters and attendees.
